How do I figure out which party is closest to my own values? Am I Democratic, Republican, Independent or something else?

This is a great question, kimokaur.

Ultimately, this is your journey.

But we do know of a couple of online tools that can help. The most well known is the Political Compass Test. It will help you get a sense of where you are on the spectrum.

The other thing you can do is head over to Project Vote Smart's Vote Easy tool. It allows you to answer some simple questions and compares them to the candidates in your state.
